NBA Betting Preview: Suns, Spurs Get Under Way Tonight
Round two of the NBA playoffs has not been historically kind to the underdogs. Tonight, San Antonio will begin their quest to reverse that trend when they begin their second round series in the desert against Phoenix.
The Suns were a team that came out of the gate this season and shocked many fans and analysts. Then, Phoenix hit a slump and many believed they may not even make the playoffs. By the end of the year, however, Phoenix had piled up enough wins to become the three seed in the Western Conference.
Similarly, the Spurs were playing their best basketball as they entered the playoffs. After upsetting the number two seed, Dallas, San Antonio must again play well and steal a game on the road to advance to the conference finals.
In the East, Cleveland and Boston are again on the court this evening. The Cavaliers played sloppy in the first half of game one, but came on strong in the second half, and escaped with a victory to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
The Celtic played almost flawlessly in their first round match up with Miami, but superstar Paul Pierce looked anything but perfect on Saturday. The Celtic great missed most of his shots during an awful shooting second half.
Boston will need to win at least one game in Cleveland this series to advance. The Cavaliers and Celtics have battled in the playoffs before, and analysts are again expecting a knock down, drag out fight for the right to move on.
