NBA Finals Betting Odds: Can Lakers Close Out Series Tonight?
The Los Angeles Lakers are a confident bunch of players that believe strongly in their ability to close out the Orlando Magic tonight and bring a championship trophy back to L.A. Gamblers, however, are not quite sure which way tonight's game will go.
The Lakers have shown throughout these playoffs that they are not the most focused of teams when they do not have their backs to the wall. The Magic, on the other hand, have been a resilient bunch who has come back numerous times.
That is one side of the debate for gamblers. The other side is that Kobe Bryant is one win away from cementing his legacy as one of the best players to ever play the game. That motivation may be enough for him to lift the Lakers to a championship level.
"Bettors have a tough decision to make with this game," says gambling analyst Brian Grelsh, "these are two good teams, both of which have a lot at stake in this game, so you don't know which way it will go."
Odds makers believe they have an idea which way the game tonight will end. They have installed the Magic as a 3.5 point favorite over the Lakers. That indicates they give Orlando a slight edge, but they also gave the Magic that edge in game four.
The total for tonight's game is a little lower than they have been throughout the series. At 198, odds makers are not predicting both teams will reach the 100 point-mark. Game time is set for 8:00 PM from Orlando, and the game will be televised by ABC.
