NBA Finals Betting Odds: Celtics Look To Wrap Up Title Tonight
The Boston Celtics have had the Los Angeles Lakers' number for decades in the NBA Finals, and tonight they can add another chapter to their winning tradition. The Celtics will try and wrap up the title tonight in Los Angeles.
The two teams had been trading punches through the first four games of the series, but in game five, Boston broke through. The Celtics became the first team in the series to win back to back games, and now sit just one victory shy of their eighteenth NBA title.
The Lakers, however, are still the defending champions. They head back home after spending an entire week in Boston, and they will be comfortable knowing that the home crowd will be behind them instead of against them. The Lakers have played almost flawlessly at home this post season.
Kobe Bryant did his best Michael Jordan impersonation in the third quarter of game five, but the rest of the team appeared lethargic and unaware of the severity of the situation they were in. If the Lakers are going to force a game seven, they will need a much bigger contribution from Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Derek Fisher, and Ron Artest than they received in game five.
Boston, on the other hand, seems to keep getting better as the series goes on. Their big three have turned into a big four, with the addition of Rajon Rondo, and if they can stick together just one more time and come out on top, they will have won a second title in the past three years.
Online sports books such as Bodog
have created odds that suggest a game seven will be played. The Lakers are favored by six and a half points tonight. The total for the game is again low, at 189. Game time is set for 9PM from the Staples center in L.A. The game will be televised live on ABC.
