NBA Free Agent Gambling Begins For Teams Looking To Improve
The NBA Finals are over and the Boston Celtics are champions of the world. Now all the rest of the teams are beginning their journey to try and dethrone the champs next year.
The free agent period in basketball has begun and some teams will be gambling on big name players to try and fill in their holes. Although not the big class that could be out there in a few years, this year's crop of free agents could still make an impact.
Baron Davis led his Golden State Warrior team to the Western Conference finals two years ago. They shocked number one seed Dallas in the opening round, then went all the way to the finals before losing to the Spurs.
Davis is now a free agent and he is getting looks from many teams. The Los Angeles Clippers appear to have the inside track on Davis, with some reports already claiming he has a verbal agreement with the Clippers.
Corey Maggette, the high scoring player from that Clipper team appears to be headed out of town. The Spurs are pursuing him hard and are the front runners to land him. The Warriors are also looking into Maggette to fill the gap left by Davis should he indeed leave.
A few other impact players are available, but mostly role players are left. Teams such as the Lakers and Pistons might be looking to add a body or two to their roster. The free agent period has begun, leaving teams to gamble on who is the best fit for their individual organizations.
