NBA Gambling Does Not Get Much Bigger Than Lakers Versus Cavaliers
This has been one of the better weeks in recent history when it comes to the NBA. There have been two of the greatest individual game performances ever from LeBron James and Kobe Bryant in Madison Square Garden. There was also an overtime thriller between last year's finalists, Los Angeles and Boston.
Now, the week concludes with what could be the best of what the NBA has to offer. Bryant James going head to head while their teams battle for the top record in the league. The game will take place in Cleveland.
If the Lakers can go into Cleveland and win, there will be little doubt left as to which team is currently the best in the NBA. They have swept the season series from Boston and can do the same against the Cavaliers tomorrow.
The fact that they can win these two games on the road without Andrew Bynum would be a testament to how much the Lakers have grown since last year's finals. There is someone on the other side, however, that knows a thing or two about challenges.
Earlier this week, Bryant had Knicks fans chanting MVP after an unbelievable sixty one point performance. James must have taken note of the show, because he dropped fifty on New York two nights later.
Bryant got the better of James in their first meeting in L.A., but things should be different in Cleveland. The Cavs are the only team in the league that has not lost a game at home this season. Whether that will rattle the Lakers remains to be seen, they already have broken two long Celtic winning streaks.
Regardless of the outcome, Sunday's game between the Lakers and Cavaliers will provide a fitting end to what has been one of the best weeks of the season so far.
