NBA Gets Dream Gambling Match Up, Lakers Versus Celtics

The NBA has been eyeing this match up for a long time. He will not say it publicly, but commissioner Howard Stern was most likely salivating over this potential match up when the playoffs began.

Another group that is excited about the match up between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers are the gambling companies. Anything that draws as much interest as this series will, is bound to have gamblers following right behind.

At the end of last season, the odds were astronomical that the Lakers and Celtics could meet in this years finals. Then the Celtics traded for Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. The Lakers did not trade Kobe Bryant, and both moves helped land the teams where they are today. Playing for an NBA championship.

The Celtics have been the league's best team all year long. They finished the regular season with the best record, and have home court advantage in the finals.

Los Angeles, however, has Kobe Bryant, the best player on the planet. He won the MVP award this year, and seems to have his mind set on carrying the Lakers on his back to a title.

The teams now have almost a full week before game one, and that should lead the media to make many comparisons between this budding rivalry, and the one of the eighties that involved Magic and Bird.

In the end, the two most storied franchises in NBA history will be battling it out to add another championship to the long line that has come before it.
