NBA Lottery Betting Odds: Nets Have Inside Track On First Pick
The Orlando magic and the Boston Celtics are back on the court tonight for game two of the Eastern Conference Finals. It is what will take place before the game, however, that will have fans in New York, New Jersey, and other states watching intently.
The NBA conducts its annual draft lottery before the playoff game tonight and the New jersey Nets have the inside track on the top pick. If the percentages hold up, the Nets will most likely have John Wall playing point guard for them when next season begins.
Wall is considered by many to be the top pick in next year's draft. The Kentucky freshman dazzled college basketball fans and looks to continue the reputation of coach John Calipari of preparing top talent to become a lottery pick in the NBA.
Ironically, it may end up being Calipari that ends up coaching Wall in the pros. Calipari has been linked as a package deal with LeBron James, although the Wildcats coach has said on several different occasions that he is staying in Lexington.
James, meanwhile, has his pick of the litter this summer when it comes to his NBA home4 next year. The most likely destinations, according to many analysts, are Chicago, New jersey, Miami, and of course, Cleveland.
The NBA assigns lottery balls to each team that qualifies for the lottery. The team with the worst record in the league has the most lotto balls, and each team after that has a less percentage chance to win the top pick. There is no guarantee that the team with the worst record wins the first pick, as in past years, teams with better records have pulled off the statistical upset.
