NBA Playoff Betting Odds: Cavaliers, Lakers, Favored To Win Title

The Cleveland Cavaliers spent last season as the best team during the regular season, only to find themselves out of the playoffs in the conference finals. This year, Cleveland again secured the leagues best record going into the postseason.

Odds makers appear more convinced this time around that Cleveland can get the job done and win the NBA title. The Cavs have been installed as even money favorites to win their first title with LeBron James. If they succeed, it would be Shaquille O'Neal's fifth championship.

In the West, The Los Angeles Lakers have been the team to beat for three years running. After losing to the Celtics two years ago in the finals, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers won a championship last season.

L.A. is again the favorite in the West, and is the second choice to Cleveland to win back to back titles. The Lakers are a +185 choice. Only two other teams have odds of less than ten to one. Orlando is a 4/1 choice, and Dallas is 9.5/1.

The Magic surprised almost all critics last year when they beat Cleveland and pushed the Lakers in the finals. This year, the Magic will not be sneaking up on anyone, with many experts believing they may once again be in a position to knock off Cleveland.

As is the case with any postseason, several long-shots are on the board. The Chicago Bulls waited until the last day of the regular season to clinch their spot in the playoffs, and their reward is a first round match up with the Cavaliers. The Bulls have 85/1 odds to win a title. Milwaukee also has long odds in the East at 80/1.

In the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder made believers out of many NBA fans with their fifty win season. Kevin Durant has become one of the top players in the league at just twenty-one years old, but not many believe the Thunder can upset the Lakers. Oklahoma City has odds to win a championship of 22/1.
