NBA Playoff Betting Shifts To Second Round Match Ups
The first round of the NBA playoffs are now in the books and the second round begins with only a couple of minor surprises from the first round.
The Dallas Mavericks upset the San Antonio Spurs in the first round, although with Manu Ginobili many predicted this outcome. they now move on to face the second seeded Denver Nuggets who easily disposed of New Orleans in round one.
In the other Western Conference semi-final, the favorites in the West, Los Angeles, will host Houston on Monday night in game one of their series. The Rockets defeated a higher seeded Portland team in the first round. The Lakers easily handled Utah.
Over in the Eastern Conference, there were no first round surprises. Cleveland swept the Detroit Pistons, setting up a match up with Atlanta. The Hawks won game seven of their series with the Miami Heat this afternoon.
The other series pits two of what was considered the elite four teams in the NBA this year. Boston and Orlando joined Cleveland and Los Angeles as being widely considered to be the elite teams in the league.
Boston survived a game seven much like they did in last year's first round. This time, however, it was the Bulls who gave them a run. Orlando beat Philadelphia in six games.
