NBA Playoff Gambling Could Be Similar To Last Year
The NBA is one major sports league where there is not much change from year to year when it comes to the teams at the top of the standings. This year, with more than half the season complete, the same four teams appear to be headed towards the conference finals.
Each year, several NBA teams come out of nowhere and have strong winning streaks during the course of the season. This season is no different with Utah in the midst of one of these runs, and Phoenix making one in the season's early months.
Despite the stretches of good play, not much has changed at the top of the standings. Last year, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers had the best records in their respective conferences. This year, the Cavs have the best record in the league and L.A. is number two.
The number two teams in the conferences were the Cavaliers and Lakers' opponents in last seasons conference finals. The Orlando Magic in the East, and the Denver Nuggets in the West, have played more consistently then they had last year.
As for the rest of the teams, it looks as though they are playing for a spot in the playoffs only. The Boston Celtics have played horribly of late, and are being given little chance of beating Cleveland in the East. The same can be said for Atlanta, a team slipping lately.
In the West, after the Lakers and Nuggets, there is a group that includes Dallas, San Antonio, Utah, and Phoenix. None of those teams, however, look like they have the roster to battle the Nuggets or the Lakers in a seven game series.
The home stretch is not far away, but it appears as though the results may be the same. The only change could be if the Cavaliers are able to get by the Magic this time around.
