NBA Season To Kick Off Tonight With Defending Champions
The Miami Heat begins its long journey toward defending their NBA title tonight when they square off with the Chicago Bulls at the AAA Arena in Miami.
The evening will be festive for the Heat as they will recieve their championship rings from last years title before the game. They will also be unveiling their championship banner and a fireworks display is set for outside the arena.
Once the festivities have ended it will be time to turn our attention toward the new season as the Heat will host one of this years favorites, the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls have a core group of young talented players coming back from last season and they also went out and picked up a huge inside presence by outbidding Detroit for the best defender in the league, Ben Wallace.
The other game on tap tonight is out on the West Coast where the Lakers will host Phoenix, a team Los Angeles took to seven games last year before being eliminated from the playoffs.
The Suns are once again one of the favorites to get to the finals this season as they see the return of former all star Amare Stoudamire, returning from a season long injury last year.
The Heat-Bulls game is set for 8:00, with the Laker-Suns game to follow. Both games will air on TNT.
