NBA Season Wrapping Up, Playoff Betting Begins This Weekend
The NBA season is in its final week and the playoff picture is starting to crystallize. It appears as though the Cleveland Cavaliers will hold on to the top spot in the league and clinch home court advantage throughout the playoffs.
That will be a big boost for a Cleveland team who was bounced from last years playoffs in a game seven in Boston. The Celtics used the home court advantage to wrap up two game sevens on their way to the NBA championship.
The playoff picture became a lot clearer over the weekend. It is now known that Atlanta will host Miami in the first round of the playoffs. All eight playoff spots in both the Eastern and western conference have been clinched. The only thing left to determine is some seeding.
Th Los Angeles Lakers are the top seed in the West. After that, there are many possibilities as to how the rest of the West will end. Three teams, the Rockets, Spurs, and Trailblazers are all tied for the three through five spots.
New Orleans, Dallas, and Utah are separated by two games for the bottom three slots in the playoffs. The eventual loser of that race will get a first round date with the Lakers, something all three would like to avoid at any cost.
The bottom three in the East is also up for grabs. Philadelphia and Chicago are currently tied for sixth, with the Pistons only one game behind in the eighth spot. The bottom seed to end the regular season will start their playoff run in Cleveland.
