NCAA Elite Eight Betting Preview: Duke The Only Top Seed Left
First, it was the Kansas Jayhawks that fell victim to the upset bug. That happened last weekend. Then, in the Sweet Sixteen, it was Syracuse's turn to be upended by a lower seeded team. On Saturday, Kentucky became the latest top seed casualty.
The Wildcats loss to West Virginia on Saturday leaves Duke as the only top seed still left in the tournament. The Blue Devils will get their chance to advance to the Final Four when they face Baylor on Sunday.
Kentucky looked like a team that was out of sync for the entire night Saturday. Their three point shooting was horrendous, and they were in foul trouble by the middle of the second half. The Mountaineers, on the other hand, played error free for most of the game.
West Virginia joined Butler, who won earlier in the day, in the Final Four. Butler outplayed number two seed Kansas State. Those two teams will await their opponents while taking a much earned day off Sunday.
The fourth of the quarter-final games will feature Michigan State and Tennessee. The winner will move on to face Butler. The winner of the Duke-Baylor game will meet West Virginia. Those games will lead to the national title game a week from Monday.
