NFC North Betting Odds: Packers And Vikings Favored To Win
The Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings have been long time foes in the NFC North. The two teams already had a strong rivalry before Brett Favre decided to sign with Minnesota before last season.
Now, the rivalry has grown to epic proportions, and Favre may well be in the middle of another divisional battle. The NFC North betting odds suggest that the Vikings and Packers should be near the top of the division at the end of the season.
The Packers are officially the favorites with odds of +130, but that could change the minute that Favre acknowledges that he will play this year. Minnesota currently has odds of +150 to win the division crown. The Vikings, however, have their sights set higher.
Minnesota played in the NFC Championship game last year, and may have won if it were not for five turnovers on the road in New Orleans. This year, Minnesota is back loaded with talent and believes they can clear the final hurdle and make it to the Super Bowl.
The Chicago Bears have a new offensive coordinator in Mike Martz. The addition of an offensive guru to draw up plays for Jay Cutler make the Bears an intriguing choice for gamblers. The Bears currently have 3/1 odds to outperform Minnesota and Green bay and steal the North.
If any team is going to be at the top of their theft game it will be Detroit. The Lions have been one of the worst teams in football for several seasons and they are hoping that first round pick Matthew Stafford develops quickly. The Lions are 15/1 long shots to win the division.
