NFL Betting Has Contrast In Styles Between Two Title Games
Sportsbooks are expecting two completely different games on Sunday afternoon and evening. They have placed the betting totals for the game in such a way that the differences in the games is obvious.
In the NFC title game, the total is 47. That means that sportsbooks are expecting almost eight touchdowns to be scored in that game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals.
Over in the AFC, it is defense that the oddsmakers think will reign supreme. The total for that game is 34. That equates to less than five combined touchdowns between the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The five touchdown prediction in the AFC might even be a bit of a reach. In two previous games between the two teams and eight and a half quarters, the two teams have combined for only four offensive touchdowns.
On the contrary, in the NFC the eight touchdowns might be a low total. The Cardinals offense has been unstoppable in the playoffs, led by wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and a resurgent running game. Philadelphia has also shown the ability to score quickly.
Although the games appear to have themes, one must still be cautious. If the first two rounds of the playoffs have shown anything is that the unexpected can happen at any time.
