NFL Betting Lines Starting To Reflect Power of Teams

For the first few weeks of the NFL season, gamblers can take advantage of early season lines put out by sportsbooks. Since nobody actually knows how teams will play in a new season, the advantage of sportsbooks is not as great as it is later in the year.

Hopefully, gamblers have taken advantage of their opportunity early on this season, because, starting this week, teams have defined themselves enough for oddsmakers to start figuring things out.

The Patriots have clearly exhibited skills that make them possibly the best team in the league, and that is shown in the fact that thery are seven point favorites on the road against the Bengals, a team that has struggled early.

The Cowboys and Rams came into the season with similar expectations, but St. Louis has started weakly, and Dallas looks like one of the top teams in the league. The line on the game is Cowboys -13.

The Bears were the clear cut choice to win their division and even their conference, but they have started the season 1-2, and with a disaster of a quarterback situation, they are only 2.5 point favorites over the upstart Detroit Lions.

With the season progressing and the window of opportunity shrinking for gamblers, not much time is left to take advantage of inadequate betting lines, if that window has not already been closed.
