NFL Betting Odds Begin With Giants And Redskins Tonight
The preseason has finally ended and that means it is time for gambling once again in the NFL. The regular season begins tonight when the defending New York Giants play against the Washington Redskins.
The Giants are the gambling favorite in the game, but many believe that the Redskins might be the better team this upcoming season. Washington made a strong run at the end of last year and appear poised to make a run at the division title.
New York lost Jeremy Shockey in the off season, and although that is a tough loss, he really did not play a significant part in the teams championship run. Shockey was injured for the playoffs.
Washington will be dealing with a new head coach when they take the field on Thursday night. They have an improved defense and are hoping that their offense will be good enough to go deep into the playoffs.
The betting line for the NFL opener Giants -4. New York will be favored in many games this year until they show that they are not as strong as a defending world champion would normally be. The total for the game tonight is 41.
Both teams will have to quickly wipe off the cobwebs from the preseason. The game is a divisional battle and could have major playoff implications down the road, even though it is only game one.
