NFL Betting Odds: Cardinals Looking To Hand Colts First Loss
This was a year in which the law of averages finally caught up with Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Head Coach Tony Dungy retired, and Marvin Harrison, Manning's favorite receiver over the past decade, had also left.
Question marks surrounded this team, and there were whispers that the Colts may fall back to mediocrity. Those questions were answered last week when Manning led a winning drive on the road against Miami to run the Colts record to 2-0.
Now, Indianapolis will get a chance at the defending NFC champions. The Arizona Cardinals have not started quite like they would have liked, but they still have offensive weapons all over the field.
Quarterback Kurt Warner is back and so are his two top targets, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. The latter stayed with the team despite rumors that he might leave in the off season. The running game has been turned over to a more than competent Tim Hightower.
The game tonight will provide a measuring stick for both teams. If the Colts can come out with a win, they will further show that they are a team to be dealt with in the AFC. The Cardinals, on the other hand, can show that they are still an elite team in the NFC.
Odds makers have Arizona favored at home. The betting line is the Cardinals -3. The total for the game is 48.5, indicating that sports books believe it will be a high scoring affair.
