NFL Betting Odds: Chargers And Patriots Look To Seize Divisions
The San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots are two teams that were predicted to be at the top of the AFC this season. They both, however, started slowly, and the criticism began to mount through the early part of the year.
Now, both teams go into today's divisional match ups with a chance to put distance between themselves and the next best team in their divisions. The Patriots face the Jets, and the Chargers play at Denver.
San Diego found themselves three and a half games behind Denver after a home loss to the Broncos a few weeks ago. Since that game, Denver has not won and San Diego has not lost. The teams are tied going into today's showdown.
If the Chargers win, the analysts will feel as if order has been restored in the AFC West. If Denver wins, the Broncos will be technically two games ahead of San Diego with the tiebreaker edge.
In the East, things are more simple for New England. The Patriots are two games ahead of everyone in their division, and can further bury the Jets with a win at home today. New York has been an up and down team all season long.
The Jets did manage to beat New England in their first meeting, and a win today would tighten the East. Miami has been playing well as of late and all three teams could battle for the division title should the Jets pull the upset.
