NFL Betting Odds: Colts A Small Favorite Over Titans?

The Indianapolis Colts are undefeated and they have looked every bit as good through the first four weeks as the Colts team that won the Super Bowl a few years ago. The Tennessee Titans have not yet won a game.

This is what many gamblers call a "trap game." The Colts are favored in the game tonight by only 3.5 points, which would seen preposterous to those who have followed football so far this season. Indianapolis has a powerful offense, and the Titans pass defense has been horrendous.

That is why they play the games, however. As easy as this game looks on paper for the Colts, the odds makers tend to be right more often than not when putting out a betting line. If the odds makers believe the game will be close, then gamblers had better recognize.

Every season, it is these games that look too good to be true that get gamblers in trouble. It is games such as these that keep Las Vegas sports books in business. Games that look like the outcome is predetermined end up more times than not going in the favor of the house.

Tennessee will be playing with a sense of urgency. They cannot lose their fifth consecutive game to start the season and expect to end up anywhere but in the race for the number one pick in the draft.

Indianapolis has played above expectations, and there bubble may be ready to burst, or maybe they will continue to play like a Super Bowl contender. It is the answer to these doubts that separate the professional point spread developers from the novice gambler.

The odds makers' prowess will be on display tonight when Tennessee faces Indianapolis. Either the gamblers will get one over on the sports books, or the odds makers will again prove why they make the big bucks.
