NFL Betting Odds: Colts And Patriots Renew Old Rivalry
The Indianapolis Colts had a short playoff run last season and the New England Patriots missed the playoffs without their starting quarterback Tom Brady, who missed the entire season. Now, the two teams are back on top of their division and will renew their rivalry tonight.
New England is sitting at 6-2, and with the New York Jets loss on Sunday afternoon, appear to have a clear path to an AFC East championship. Tonight's game in Indianapolis, however, could be an important one in the race for home field advantage in the AFC.
The Colts, meanwhile, had their coach, Tony Dungy, walk away after last season, and there was expected to be a small rebuilding process. it turns out the Colts have rebuilt quicker than anyone anticipated, and they come into tonight's game with a perfect record.
Peyton Manning has regained his MVP form, and is shredding defenses on a weekly basis. Tom Brady and his receivers are also starting to find their rhythm and are putting up big points. The defenses for both teams have been solid.
Odds makers have installed the Colts as a small favorite in the game. The Colts are favored by 1.5 points. The total of forty-eight is lower than it usually is when these two high scoring offenses get together. The game will be televised as part of Football Night in America on NBC.
