NFL Betting Odds: Colts Now Favored By Six In Super Bowl

Any gambler that thought the Indianapolis Colts were going to win the Super Bowl had better have laid their bets down early. After opening at three points, the betting line has now climbed all the way to six for Sunday's game.

The New Orleans Saints were a team that was on pace for a perfect season after thirteen regular season games. After losing three games in a row, New Orleans fell out of favor with many NFL fans, and now that trust issue is rearing its head just days before the big game.

Peyton Manning may have as much to do with the betting line as anyone playing in the Super Bowl. Bettors are showing that they simply do not believe that Manning and the Colts will be defeated. It is a classic case of the favorite getting much of the hype for how good they are, while the underdog looks inferior.

New Orleans, however, has shown all season that they are inferior to nobody. The Saints time and again have battled back with the odds stacked against them this year. They had several miraculous come from behind wins, and they understand that they can do so again if need be on Sunday.

The total for the game has now balanced at fifty-seven. It started last week much lower, but rose quickly and then has stabilized. The two teams playing have scored points at will all season long, and another shootout is expected this weekend.

The Super Bowl is annually the most bet on sporting event in the US. Sports books traditionally take in around $100 million in wagers on the game, and that comes from just a portion of the millions upon millions of fans that watch the game every year.
