NFL Betting Odds: Dolphins Tighten Up AFC East Predictions
The New York Jets have won the headlines battle this off season when it comes to the AFC East. The jets have picked up high profile player Antonio Cromartie, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Santonio Holmes. On Wednesday, the Miami Dolphins struck back.
The Dolphins traded for Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall, a move that finally gives Miami the impact, big-play receiver they have lacked for years. Marshall is considered by many to be one of the top five receivers in the league.
Odds makers have had to alter their pre-season odds several times in the AFC because of the amount of player movement. The Marshall trade should help the Dolphins odds of winning increase in the next couple of days. Miami has been steadily improving their roster since Bill Parcells was brought in to help with personnel decisions.
The one team that has remained quiet so far is the New England Patriots. many analysts believe that the Patriots window of dominating the AFC East has closed with the resurgence of both the Dolphins and Jets in recent years. The Buffalo Bills have remained the bottom team in the division.
Rex Ryan has been perhaps the biggest addition the Jets have made. The head coach has come in and changed the culture and attitude in New York. No longer are they considered lovable losers. Instead, Ryan brought the Jets to the AFC Championship in his first season.
