NFL Betting Odds: Giants Favored In Fight For Home Field

The New York Giants have been perceived to be the best team in the NFC this season. Tonight they will get the chance to leave no doubt in anybodies mind that they are the best when they play at home against Carolina.

The Panthers currently are tied with the Giants for the best record in the NFC. The winner of this game will be rewarded with home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Although that has not necessarily meant an easy trip to the Super Bowl in the past few years, it is still a luxury both teams would like to have.

The Panthers are actually the hotter team right now. New York has lost their last two games to the Eagles and Cowboys, and now must find a way to win tonight to claim what just a few weeks seemed like an already determined conclusion.

The Giants will welcome back their starting running back Brandon Jacobs for the game. Jacobs has been battling injury and is a big part of the Giant offense. His presence should give the Giants a spark.

Carolina is led by all pro wide receiver Steve Smith. He is widely believed to be the best receiver in football, and is on a string of 100 yard games coming into tonight.

The Giants are favored by sports books in the game giving an indication that the general public believes they are the stronger team.
