NFL Betting Odds: Jets Looking For Third Straight Upset

The New York Jets are traveling along a path where several teams have been successful in the past couple of seasons. New York has been road underdogs for two straight weeks, and for two straight weeks they have upset the betting favorites.

This week, the Jets will get the opportunity to knock off their second straight large favorite. The Indianapolis Colts are more than a touchdown favorite, but they understand what happened to San Diego last week in the same position.

The Jets were more than a touchdown underdog when they went into San Diego last week, and not many bettors believed the jets had a chance against the high powered Chargers. New York won, but still there are gamblers who are doubting that the Jets can pull off a third straight upset.

In the second to last game of the season, the Colts entered with a perfect record. They jumped on these same Jets early, and were leading when they pulled Peyton Manning and other key starters midway through the third quarter. What happened next was the Jets ruining the Colts perfect season, and playing the rest of the year as if they were the top team in the AFC.

On Sunday, Manning and the rest of his Colts teammates will play the entire four quarters. That has led sports books to install them as big favorites, but New York is unfazed. They have been here before, and have succeeded.

A win this weekend by Indianapolis and the betting world will return to order. If the jets should pull the upset, however, there could be thousands of more bettors jumping on the New York bandwagon heading into the Super Bowl.
