NFL Betting Odds: Minnesota Looks To Inch Closer To Saints
The Minnesota Vikings have been somewhat overshadowed this season by the New Orleans Saints. The Vikings only have two losses, but up until this week the saints were undefeated.
Now, the Vikings can make up ground on the Saints in the race for home field advantage in the NFC. New Orleans lost to the Cowboys on Saturday night, and a Vikings win would move them within a game of the Saints for the top spot in the conference.
Minnesota is led by their defense, which ranks as one of the top in the league. They were equally as good last year, but now they have an offense that can put up points while the defense shuts down other teams.
Brad Childress, the Vikings head coach, put his reputation and future on the line this past off season when he went on a full out campaign to bring in Brett Favre to be the quarterback. after holding out to avoid the early part of training camp, Favre gave in.
He began the season as an MVP candidate, but has tapered off slightly as the season has progressed. Now is the time that Favre will have to prove that he can still handle a long NFL season.
Carolina had showed signs of life after a slow start, but they again have cooled of as of late. The Panthers are playing for nothing more than pride with their playoff hopes long gone.
