The NFL playoffs again take center stage this weekend and on Saturday the four games are kicked off by the New Orleans Saints hosting the Arizona Cardinals. The Saints are big favorites over the defending NFC champions.
Arizona has been in this situation before. Last year, the Cardinals were big underdogs going into Carolina in this same round of the playoffs. All the Cardinals did that day was tear apart the Panthers on their way to the Super Bowl.
This year's Arizona team is similar to last season's squad. They have one of the most prolific passing offenses in the league, but they will most likely be without wide receiver Anquan Boldin.
New Orleans is a team that just a month ago was en route to a possible perfect season. Since starting the season 13-0, however, the Saints have not won a game. It has been over a month since the last New Orleans win.
The Saints are also well equipped to score points in bunches. Quarterback Drew Brees had what many analysts believed was an MVP season. Brees has many weapons to chose from, and the Saints can also run the football well.
The city of New Orleans has been craving a big home football playoff game since Hurricane Katrina devastated the city. Residents have rallied around the Saints, and now the team is delivering with winning performances.
New Orleans is favored in the game by seven points. Odds makers and analysts are expecting a high scoring game, similar to the one that was played last weekend between Arizona and Green Bay. ironically, it was a defensive touchdown that ended that game in overtime.
