NFL Betting Odds: Saints Favored Big Over Falcons On MNF
The New Orleans Saints have done everything asked of them this year. They have won by blowout, won with defense, and won in come from behind fashion. Now they are being asked by their coach to do something else, to secure their division title hopes.
The Saints will play host to the Atlanta Falcons tonight with a chance to open up what some believe would be an insurmountable division lead. The saints have been rolling while the Falcons have been inconsistent so far this year.
New Orleans has been a darling of prognosticators for the past several season. This year, their play on the field is finally living up to the hype of the preseason. New Orleans has established themselves as one of the top teams in the NFC.
Atlanta came into this season with higher expectations that the Saints. They won a playoff game last year and have an offense that is loaded with superstars. Matt Ryan is the offensive leader at quarterback, even though he is only in his second season.
The Saints are lead by Drew Brees. He has weapons all over the field, and New Orleans also now has a defense that can keep up with their offense. If they continue at their current rate, most experts believe they will be playing deep into the playoffs.
Reggie Bush stirred the pot this past week by proclaiming that the saints have a chance to go undefeated. The Falcons heard those words, and also saw a Saints team on tape that played poorly for an entire half against Miami last week.
Despite the close call in Miami, odds makers believe that this week will be a breeze for New Orleans. The Saints are favored by 12.5. The total for the game is 55.5, meaning that a shootout is expected.
