NFL Betting Odds: Steelers Must Beat Ravens Without Roethlisberger
The Pittsburgh Steelers are the defending Super Bowl champions and they began this NFL season with a rousing victory over the Tennessee Titans. Since then, however, Pittsburgh has been hit with a rash of injuries that have kept them from dominating the AFC North.
Tonight, the Steelers limp into Baltimore with their playoff hopes riding on a divisional match up. They Steelers will have to win the game without to of the best players in the league on the field.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and safety Troy Polamalu are both out with injuries, joining a growing list of Steelers that were instrumental in last year's championship run. Aaron Smith is gone for the year, and Lawrence Timmons has been hobbled for the past couple of games.
Baltimore is another team that had expectations of winning the AFC North this season. They, too, have struggled and are only 5-5, one game behind Pittsburgh. With the strength of schedule that remains for both teams, tonight's game has become a must win for the Ravens.
Cincinnati is leading the division and has completed a perfect record in the AFC North this year after defeating the Browns Sunday afternoon. The Bengals have the inside track on winning the division, and are one game ahead of Pittsburgh and two games ahead of Baltimore.
The Ravens and Steelers have played some memorable games in the past couple of seasons including last year's AFC Championship game. The only positive for Pittsburgh tonight is their ability to win under the lights. The Steelers have been virtually unbeatable in night games under Mike Tomlin.
