NFL Betting Odds: Steelers Rise With Ocho Cinco Out
The Pittsburgh Steelers enter tonight's game against the one win Cincinnati Bengals in a similar spot as they were in last year at this time. They are 7-3 and on top of the AFC North.
Last year, they were 7-2 and leading their division when they came home to face the New York Jets, a one win team. The Jets beat the Steelers in overtime and it set the tone for the rest of the disappointing Steelers season.
Pittsburgh is hoping to pay better attention to the Bengals tonight then they did to the Jets last year. They had better take care of business, because their schedule gets brutal after tonight.
Pittsburgh has upcoming games with New England, Dallas, Baltimore, and Tennessee. Not exactly the type road that leaves any room for error. If Pittsburgh can win tonight, they will guarantee a finish of no worse than an 8-8 record.
More importantly than the fear of losing in the upcoming weeks is the reality that if the Steelers win tonight, they will keep themselves in line for a first round bye with the AFC's second best record.
Their road to victory tonight has gotten a little bit easier this afternoon. Chad Ocho Cinco Johnson has been suspended for the game by the Bengals for violating team rules. It has not been confirmed what rule he broke, but regardless he will not be in uniform.
