NFL Betting Odds: Texans Looking For Playoff Push
The Houston Texans have never been in this position in their short history. They have a team that is talented enough to compete for a playoff spot, but they have yet to put that talent together on a consistent basis.
Tonight, the Texans will begin their late season playoff push with a home game against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans had the best record in the AFC last year, but have struggled mightily so far this season.
Tennessee's troubles have been so deep that they have changed quarterbacks. Vince Young has taken over for Kerry Collins, and Young has done a decent job in the time he has had as the starter, leading the Titans to a couple of victories.
Houston, on the other hand, has played well at times, looking like a Super Bowl contender. At other times, however, they have looked like the Titans of the past couple of years, the team that struggled to find an identity.
One problem the Texans do not have is scoring. Andre Johnson is now widely considered to be the best wide receiver in the league, and Matt Schaub has the making of a quarterback that will be in the league for a long time.
The Texans are the betting favorite tonight, but that will not change the way the Titans attack the game. Tennessee relies heavily on Chris Johnson, who right now is the best running back in the NFL. He has had some huge games already this season.
