NFL Betting Odds: Underachieving Dolphins And Panthers Tonight
The Miami Dolphins and the Carolina Panthers were two of the most surprising teams last season in the NFL. Tonight's game between the two, however, is an indication of just how quickly things can change in the league.
Miami won the AFC East last year and was subsequently bounced from the playoffs by the Baltimore Ravens. This year, the Dolphins came out of training camp talking a good game about repeating as champions.
Now, more than halfway through the season, Miami is gasping for air. They are under .500, and have just lost their best player, running back Ronnie Brown, for the rest of the season. They are a team searching for an identity.
The Carolina Panthers are another team in search of a spark. The Panthers had the best record in the NFC last year, and were again poised to make a run at the conference title.
A terrible start to their season has left the Panthers in a similar situation as the Dolphins. The two teams desperately need a win, but only one will come out of Carolina tonight victorious, and with hopes of resurrecting their season.
Odds makers are expecting a close game even without Brown in the lineup for Miami. Carolina is the betting favorite, by three points over the Dolphins. The total for the game is 42.5, and the game will be shown on the NFL Network.
