NFL Betting Preview: Giants And Eagles In Big NFC East Match Up
The New York Giants started the season looking like the class of the NFC East. They then hit a tough patch, like most NFL teams do at some point in the season, and their season looked like it was crumbling.
That was until last week when they faced the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants took care of Dallas for the second time this season and may have saved their division title hopes in the process. Now, they have another big test in front of them tonight in the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles have been just as tricky to figure out as the Giants. Philadelphia has looked unbeatable some weeks, and looked awful in others. Tonight, something will have to give with both teams playing for not only their division lives, but also their playoff lives.
The Cowboys currently lead the division, but the Giants hold the tiebreaker over Dallas after beating them twice. New York spoiled the Cowboys opening of their new stadium early this year with a come from behind victory.
The NFC playoff picture is much clearer than the AFC. The Giants and Eagles both still have the inside track to a playoff berth, but as the season gets older, each game becomes much more important. Tonight's game could go a long way in determining which of these teams ends up in the playoffs.
The Eagles are favored tonight even though the game is in the Meadowlands. Philadelphia is favored by 1.5 points. The total for the game is 44, suggesting it could be a high scoring affair. Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb lit the Giants up the first time the two teams played.
