NFL Betting Preview: Jets And Saints Highlight Gambling Action
Every once in a while a game comes along that stumps the NFL gambler. This week, that game will feature the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets, two teams that are undefeated and playing at a high level.
The Saints were supposed to be one of the teams to beat last year, but a poor start put them in a hole that they could not recover from. This year, the Saints have put together the best offense in football with an improving defense.
The Jets have done things a little differently on their way to the top. New York has built what looks like a ferocious defense, and has trusted rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez to take care of the football and manage the game on offense.
The change in philosophy came this off season for the Jets. They hired defensive coordinator Rex Ryan from the Baltimore Ravens to be their head coach. Ryan brought linebacker Jake Scott along with him from Baltimore, and together, they have changed the culture of Jets football.
New Orleans, of course, has MVP candidate Drew Brees running their offense. Brees has developed into the most dangerous quarterback in the league and he is only now starting to get all of his wide receiver targets healthy. Lance Moore, a leading receiver on the team last year, is expected to play today against New York.
