NFL Betting Preview: Owens Faces Old Team In The Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles went to the Super Bowl when Terrell Owens was playing wide receiver. In the time since Owens has left, the Eagles have had a hard time getting back to the championship game. Tonight, they take another step in that journey when they face the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals signed the former Eagles wide receiver this summer, and he is now teamed with Chad Ocho Cinco. If not the best combo on the field, the pair will certainly be among the top quoted receivers off the field this season, something that neither has ever been afraid of in their careers.

Tonight's game features a Bengals team that is hungry to continue the success they began last year when they won the AFC North. Cincinnati, however, has the memory of their two consecutive losses to the Jets to end the season as a reminder that they must improve if they want to win a championship.

The Bengals brought Owens in to help improve an offense that was ripped to shreds by the Jets defense in the playoffs last year. Carson Palmer, for the first time in his career, has two top tier wide receivers to throw to, both of which can get open deep down the field.

The Eagles will be starting a new era this season after trading Donovan McNabb in the off season. Kevin Kolb will take over the quarterback duties, and he will also have a new running back behind him. Brian Westbrook was also let go this summer by Philadelphia.

The Bengals join the Ravens and Steelers as the favorites to win the AFC North. The Eagles are looking up at the Cowboys and Giants, according to the odds. Tonight, odds makers have the Bengals favored by two points. The total for the game is 39.5.
