NFL Betting Spread Out Throughout The Week At This Point Of Year
The NFL claims to not want people betting on their sport. They say that the sport is popular in spite of, not because of, gambling. That theory will be tested big time this week.
For a league that denounces gambling on their sport, they sure have done an amazing job of spreading their games out during the end of the regular season. This week, there are games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
The Thursday night game has been a staple for several years since the league must promote their NFL Network. The Saturday games became popular at just about the same time that sports gambling took off in the US.
On Saturday night, the league has a match up of two teams that are fighting for playoff births in the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens. That game will produce plenty of ratings.
On Sunday, the top seeds in both conferences are at stake when Pittsburgh plays Tennessee and the Giants face the Panthers. That Giant, Panthers game was switched into prime time from its original 1PM start.
The betting in Las Vegas this week will be fast and furious. Gamblers searching for a last minute score before the holidays will be watching these games with much on the line. Meanwhile, the NFL will enjoy the ratings, believing it is the holiday season that is powering their high ratings.
