NFL Football Picks: Steelers Over The Giants In Super Preview
The Pittsburgh Steelers are beginning one of the toughest stretches that the NFL schedule has ever offered when they play host to the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants this afternoon.
The defending champion Giants have been the class of the NFC all year long up until this point. Now they will get a chance to find out how they stack up against one of the top teams in the AFC.
Pittsburgh comes into the game a little bit banged up. They are going to be playing without their all pro running back Willie Parker. They also will be missing their starting offensive guard, and possibly safety Troy Polamalu.
The Giants, on the other hand, are completely healthy and one of their players, receiver Plaxico Burress, might have extra motivation today. Burress left the Steelers to play for the Giants after Pittsburgh drafted him out of Michigan State.
The Steelers will have to face the Cowboys, Redskins, Patriots, Chargers, Titans, and Colts over the rest of the season. All of those teams are potential playoff teams, so if the Steelers want to establish themselves as the best in the AFC, they will have the platform to do so.
