NFL Gamblers Try To Rebound With San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos
The San Diego Chargers were supposed to be one of the top teams in the NFL this season. They were coming off a season in which they only lost two games. They did, however, bow out of the playoffs early in an upset loss at home to the Patriots.
Their coaching staff almost entirely changed. Norv Turner came in as the new head coach, and former offensive coordinator Cam Cameron bolted for a head coaching job in Miami. That left the Chargers in transition.
They started the season rough, and some believed the coaching change turned out to be a disaster, but they have rebounded, and if they win tonight and next week, they will be the third seed in the AFC playoffs.
Counting on them tonight will be gamblers. The NFL was not kind to bettors on Sunday. Many favorites not only did not cover point spreads, but they also lost games outright. That means that teaser players were hurt badly.
Tonight the Chargers face the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have again severely disappointed and are playing for nothing but pride. Logic would say go with the team playing for something. Logic, however, was wrong Sunday in games involving the Buccaneers, Browns, and Vikings.
In order for holiday cheer to be shared by gamblers, the Chargers will most likely have to take care of business tonight. Here's hoping San Diego and Denver cooperate with the gambling universe.
