NFL Gambling Gets Familiar Foes In Chargers And Colts
The Indianapolis Colts and the San Diego Chargers had good reason to believe before the season started that they would be meeting each other in the playoffs. They just did not think it would be on wild card weekend.
The Chargers and the Colts were two of the top favorites to win the Super Bowl this season. With lofty expectations both teams started slowly, causing concern. Indianapolis quickly turned their season around, winning their final nine games.
San Diego, on the other hand, had to wait until the last regular season played in the NFL this year before they punched their ticket to the playoffs. They did that by knocking off the Broncos for the AFC West title.
The Colts and Chargers both expected to have first round byes in their quest for a title. Now that they do not, they will face each other earlier than expected, with just as much on the line.
The perception for the winner of this game will be that they are good enough to beat either of the top two seeds to get to the AFC Championship game. That makes the stakes even higher for tonight's game.
Th betting public believes that the Colts are the stronger tea,. They are the gambling favorite by one point. The total for the game is 49.5, indicating that the offense that has the best night will most likely win the game.
