NFL Gambling Preview Takes A Look At NFC Divisional Odds
We here at Casino Gambling Web took the time to dissect the AFC divisional odds, and now its time to move on to the NFC. The usual suspects are favored to win the division, but rest assured, there will be a team that comes out of nowhere to be crowned division champs.
Let's begin in the NFC East, where the favorite to win the division is the Donovan McNabb led Philadelphia Eagles, at +175. Unless T.O. suddenly changes helmets from the star of Dallas back to the Eagles wing, its hard to believe that Philadelphia will repeat as division champs. My pick here for the value is the Washington Redskins at +500. Have to Believe they brought Joe Gibbs back a few years ago for something more than Nascar wins.
The NFC North has the Bears again as the favorite, but in Tapaglia's crystal ball there appears to be two dark horses coming out of this division, the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings.
Chicago has had a tumultuous off season since playing in the Super Bowl, and their odds of -350 are too steep for a team led by Rex Grossman. The Vikings added an impact player in Adrian Peterson that could make them contenders.
The Lions have never won anything, so eventually one of these +850 lines they have every year will have to pay off, I say its this year.
The NFC South has no current odds on winning the division due to Michael Vick apparently taking his role of Quarterback to literal when they told him he must lead his dogs into battle. Of course, this is all speculation at this point, but it does keep the division odds on the back burner for now.
Out in the West, the Seattle Seahawks are the favorites at +110. The other three teams are all lumped from +340 to +400, and while the 49ers are the vogue choice, I would be more comfortable with either of the other two choices, The Rams or the Cardinals.
Preseason games are just a few weeks away and these odds will surely fluctuate after some games are played, but if your going to get good value out of these odds, get them now, before the rest of the country(i.e., the experts in Vegas) find out what your hunches already are telling you.
