NFL Has Last Undefeated Team Go Down On Sunday
The Colts were marching along this season at such a pace, that oddsmakers recently began putting up odds on Indy going through the whole season undefeated. The Dallas Cowboys ended the dreams of an undefeated season Sunday by coming up with a big second half and defeating the Colts 21-14.
Dallas confused Peyton Manning for much of the first half and although they played well defensively they still trailed the Colts 7-0 at the end of the first half.
The second half was a different story for the Cowboys as they continued to shut down the Colts offense and their own offense got things going as they produced 3 touchdowns, two of which came on long drives.
The Cowboys game plan was executed perfectly, to keep the Colts offense off the field, and to keep Peyton Manning someplace he could not hurt them, on the bench.
Dallas made the move a couple weeks back to turn the quarterback position over to Tony Romo in place of Drew Bledsoe. Since the move, the Cowboys offense looks recharged and much more efficient. If not for a botched field goal against the Redskins, Dallas would be undefeated with Romo at the helm.
Next week Indy faces Philadelphia while Dallas plays Tampa Bay. The Cowboys are now 6-4 and the Colts are 9-1.
