NFL Picks For Week Two: Gambling Lines Still Low
The NFL had some things happen in week one of their season that they did not necessarily like. Tom Brady, one of the faces of the league, went down with a season ending injury.
While the league was disappointed it lost one of its stars, the gamblers who placed bets on New England were particularly devastated. That injury and several others have made the sports books to re-figure betting lines for week two.
They have done so, and despite some big surprises in week one, the odds makers have kept the lines relatively low for this weeks games. The biggest spread of the week is the Giants, who are favored over the Rams by 8.5.
Many of the games are again between one and four point spreads. Of all the games on Sunday, thirteen of them have betting odds of a touchdown or lower. The New Orleans, Washington game is actually a pick.
The only game other than the Giants game with a high point spread is Tampa Bay against Atlanta. Apparently the odds makers were not that impressed with the Falcons opening week win. They are eight point underdogs against the Bucs.
The Patriots, who will be playing their first game without Tom Brady under center to start a game in a long time, are actually underdogs in the Meadowlands against the Jets. New York is favored by 1.5.
