The New Orleans Saints have been living dangerously for the past few weeks, and even though they escaped Sunday with another win, New Orleans has been replaced at the top of our power rankings this week. The Colts are the new number one team.

Indianapolis had a miraculous comeback win at home on Sunday night against a New England Patriots team that is looking more and more like a Super Bowl contender every week. That, coupled with the Saints sloppy performance against lowly St. Louis, is the reason for the swap at the top.

The number three team in this weeks rankings may have something to say about being number one before the season is over. Minnesota had another impressive victory, and is only one loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers way from being undefeated.

Speaking of the Steelers, they dropped in the rankings after losing a game at home for the first time this season. The number four team in our rankings, Cincinnati, handed the Steelers that loss. It was the second time this season that the Bengals have beaten the Steelers.

Despite the loss to Indianapolis, the Patriots remain in the top five. Had it not been for a controversial call by their head coach, the Patriots may have escaped Indy with a win. San Diego, another team on the rise, moves into the top ten for the first time at number six after handily defeating the Philadelphia Eagles.

At number seven is the Steelers. Although they lost to the Bengals, Pittsburgh has the type schedule that should keep them in the hunt for another division title the rest of the season. Arizona had a come from behind victory over Seattle, and that was good enough to land the Cardinals at number eight this week.

The bottom two teams in this weeks top ten rankings both lost on Sunday. The Denver Broncos lost for the third straight time, and only their 6-3 record is keeping them in the top ten at this point. Atlanta also lost Sunday, but they stay in the top ten, mainly because of a lack of worthy teams below them.
