NFL Power Rankings: Giants Move Up, Titans Still Number One
The New York Giants were at a crossroads as far as we were concerned last week. They were facing one of the two teams in front of them in our power rankings, the Pittsburgh Steelers. What was even more of a challenge for the Giants was the fact they were playing in Pittsburgh.
They survived that challenge in a fashion that normally would have put them on the top of our rankings this week, but the Tennessee Titans put an end to that train of thought on Monday night.
Tennessee took care of divisional nemesis Indianapolis on Monday night to remain undefeated. That was enough for them to stay at the top of our rankings for at least one more week.
With the Steelers losing, and the Giants moving up to number two, that left an opening at the top of the rankings. The Redskins took full advantage of Pittsburgh's loss and moved up to number three.
The Carolina Panthers again took care of business and are now the number four team in the rankings. They are followed with Pittsburgh, who stays in the top five for their ability to almost pull of a victory despite numerous key injuries.
The Patriots began their move up the rankings with a win on Sunday, they are now number six. Buffalo lost to Miami, and that dropped them to the seven spot. here is a look at the complete top ten in the power rankings.
