NFL Power Rankings: Giants, Titans Remain On Top Once Again
Anyone who had the notion that the New York Giants were a fluke last year, had better start reconsidering. The Giants dismantled their divisional rival, the Dallas Cowboys, and have solidified themselves as one of the elite teams in the NFL.
The Tennessee Titans went into their game against Green Bay as the leagues only undefeated team. Even though they had not lost, many experts believed the Packers would beat them. That was not the case and the Titans remained perfect and also on top in our rankings this week.
The Giants are the number two team, and the team they defeated two weeks ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers, are now back up to number three. The Steelers went into Washington against a 6-2 Redskins team and showed why they are one of the top teams in the AFC.
Despite the loss to Pittsburgh, the Redskins remain in the top give at number four. Their offense looked horrible against the Steelers, but most offenses do. Carolina, who had a bye last week, is the number five team in the rankings this week.
Arizona had another impressive showing with Kurt Warner leading them at the quarterback. They have now shown that they can win on the road, and that has catapulted them to number six in the rankings.
Tampa Bay had a big comeback win against a Chiefs team that took a 24-3 lead early in the game. The Bucs survived, however, and showed why they belong in the top ten. They are number seven.
The eight, nine, and ten, teams keep changing every week because nobody that holds these spots can continue to win. This week, Philadelphia is number eight, Baltimore nine, and Chicago ten.
