NFL Power Rankings Is Loaded With AFC Teams

Indianapolis is the #1 team in our power rankings this week after a thrashing of the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night. The Colts looked every bit back to championship form after losing the previous week to the Dallas Cowboys. They ran their record to 10-1 and once again are the class of the league. The only unknown about the team is whether they can get over the hump and win in the playoffs, but for now, they are the league's best.

San Diego had a tough time this weekend with divisional foe Oakland, but in the end they won and good teams seem to find a way to win when they do not play their best, so the Chargers are the #2 team this week.

Chicago is the only team from the NFC in the top five and they come in at #3. The Bears lost this week to New England and are starting to struggle on offense, in particular at quarterback, where Rex Grossman has the fourth most interceptions in the league, but this team is driven by defense and the defense is good enough to keep them at #3.

New England, who beat the Bears on Sunday, comes in at #4 and is steadily moving up the rankings. It seems as though Tom Brady and the boys will once again be in position to make a Super Bowl run.

Baltimore rounds out the top five after blasting rival Pittsburgh over the weekend with a convincing 24-0 shutout. The Ravens are led by their defense and the offense is not very far behind championship standards.

Tems six through ten finally see a few more NFC teams join the rankings with Seattle #6, Dallas, with theoutstanding play of Tony Romo at #7, and New Orleans #8.

Slots 9-10 are two teams out of the AFC West with Kansas City at 9 and a reeling Denver team at #10.
