NFL Power Rankings: Manning Brothers Have Teams On Top
The Giants and the Colts have something in common and it is the reason they are the top two teams in this weeks Power Rankings. The bloodlines of Archie Manning have powered these two teams to the top.
Eli Manning and his New York Giants are on top for the first time this year after another easy victory this past Sunday. The Giants appear to be getting better each week, and that has the rest of the NFC a little concerned.
Indianapolis was supposed to have been regressing this year. Instead, Peyton Manning is once again putting up MVP numbers, and the Colts defense looks as good as it was when they won the Super Bowl several years back.
In the number three spot this week is the New Orleans Saints. The saints showed again on Sunday, for the second consecutive week, that they can win games with their defense as well as their offense. Drew Brees had another average game, but New Orleans still knocked off the previously undefeated New York Jets.
Minnesota and New England round out the top five. The Vikings had a nice home win over divisional rival Green Bay, and the Patriots continued to improve with a win over Baltimore. Tom Brady is looking more and more comfortable in the pocket with every passing week.
The Ravens fall to number six, although they did have a strong showing on the road against the Pats. Denver moves up to number seven even though we still are not completely sold that this will be a top fifteen team by the end of the season.
Atlanta, Philadelphia, and San Francisco round out our top ten. All three of these teams have only one loss, and the future looks bright for each.
