NFL Power Rankings: Ravens Impressive Again In Week Three

The Baltimore Ravens went into Pittsburgh last year for the AFC Championship with the feeling that they were the best team in the conference. They came out of that game feeling the bitter disappointment of having a great rookie quarterback who appeared not ready for the big time.

Now, one off season later, the Ravens look like they have taken that loss to heart. Baltimore has crushed every team in their path so far this year, and on Sunday they toyed with an awful Cleveland team.

The Ravens are the number one team in this weeks power rankings. The New York Giants again looked like a well oiled machine in Tampa on Sunday. The Giants are dealing with many injuries, but still keep winning. That makes them number two on our list this week.

Peyton Manning and the Colts were supposed to slip after losing their future Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy. Instead, the Colts look better than they have in years and hold down the three spot this week. Manning looks like he is on his way to an MVP season.

New Orleans showed on Sunday that their defense can bail them out when their offense is shut down. The Saints defeated Buffalo despite a below average game from quarterback Drew Brees. New Orleans is number four this week, with the Philadelphia Eagles rounding out the top five.

Numbers six through ten are shuffled a little bit from last week with some surprising last minute wins. Minnesota is at six after Brett Favre threw a touchdown pass in the last ten seconds for a home win over San Francisco. The Jets are number seven, even though we are still not sold that this will be a top ten football team by the end of the season.

New England and Tom Brady have made some adjustments and are now number eight after a home win against previously undefeated Atlanta. The Falcons played well on the road, and stay in the top ten at number nine. San Diego moves into the ten spot after beating Miami.
