NFL Power Rankings: Titans And Giants Back On Top
The Tennessee titans and New York Giants were faced with an interesting dilemma last weekend. They had been the top two teams in our power rankings for the entire year until they both fell in last weeks rankings.
The Titans and the Giants responded like true champions do. Tennessee pummeled the Steelers and the Giants showed character in their win over Carolina. The two wins were good enough to put them at number one and number two, respectively.
Indianapolis continued their run towards a Super Bowl appearance by rolling off their eighth straight victory. The eight straight wins is enough to have the Colts jump both the Steelers and the Panthers into the number three spot this week.
Carolina drops to number four, and Pittsburgh falls from one to five. Their lack of offensive consistency could hurt them in the playoffs, especially with the hard charging Patriots, Dolphins, and Chargers playing well.
Speaking of New England, they are the number six team this week. Their division rival, the Dolphins, move to the seven spot. One of those two teams could lock out the Jets if either wins on Sunday. Miami will get their chance in a head to head match up with New York in the Meadowlands.
The final three spots in our rankings go to Atlanta at number eight, Minnesota at nine, and the Baltimore Ravens at ten. The Ravens rebounded well from their home loss to Pittsburgh by beating the Cowboys on the road Saturday night.
