NFL Power Rankings: Titans And Steelers Top This Weeks List

The Tennessee titans may have been the best team in football this entire season. Since the defending champion Giants have had such a strong showing, the Titans have been unable to wrestle the top spot in our rankings away from New York. Until now.

The Giants looked sloppy on Sunday in losing to their divisional rival, the Eagles, and that opened the door for Tennessee to take over on top. The Titans walked directly through that door and with one loss are now number one in our power rankings.

Not only did the Giants get jumped by the Titans, but the loss to Philadelphia coupled with Pittsburgh's impressive comeback win over Dallas, dropped the Giants to number three this week.

It very well could end up that the Giants are the better team than the Steelers and they have beaten them head to head. Our rankings, however, reward the what have you done lately scenario, and that favors the Steelers, who have won four straight games.

Carolina comes in as the number four team this week after pulling away from Tampa Bay both in their game on Monday night and also in their division. The Panthers now hold a one game lead over Tampa, and also control their own destiny for home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

The Indianapolis Colts round out our top five after another impressive win. The Colts have now won six straight games and are once again a team to contend with in the AFC.

Baltimore has a big game coming up with Pittsburgh this week. The number six Ravens have to win at home this week or else the Steelers will clinch the division title. It will be a match up of the two best defenses in football.

The Arizona Cardinals clinched their division title this past week and that makes them our number seven team in this weeks rankings. Tampa Bay comes in at number eight, and Minnesota moves to nine. Th Dallas Cowboys barely stay in the rankings at number ten.
